Submissions to the Law Review:

Georgetown University Undergraduate Law Review is calling for submissions of academic articles, essays, and research papers which discuss current domestic or international legal issues, legal or political philosophy, or any other subject of significance to a vast legally-minded readership. Articles can be related to such topics as: 

Gender and Sexuality; Human Rights; International Law; National Security; Race and Law; Criminal Law; Civil Rights and Anti-discrimination Law; Disability Law; Immigration Law; Constitutional Law; Environmental Law; Technology, Communication, and Intellectual Property; Entertainment Law; Trade Law; and Legal History.

Each paper will be thoroughly evaluated by The Editorial Board. The strongest submissions will earn a place in GUULR Volume IX, which will be published in Spring of 2023. Submissions will be evaluated on relevance to the legal field, quality and depth of research, originality of the argument, and clarity of the analysis and writing. 

Submissions must:

  • Be at least 6 pages, double spaced
  • Include footnotes or end-notes

Please send all law review submissions as a Word Document attachment to guundergraduatelawreview@gmail.com. In the body of the email, include:

  • Name
  • Email & Phone Number
  • University, Class, and Fields of Study
  • Submission Title
  • Abstract (150 word maximum)

We will begin accepting submissions for Volume X on June 1, 2023, and submissions must be received by 11:59 PM, December 31, 2023.

Submissions to GUULR Blog:

GUULR Blog is another way for undergraduate students to engage in legal discussions. These blog posts can be something that you have written previously for a class, or something you craft for the blog specifically. Every post must:

  • Reference at least one specific court case or law
  • Include footnotes (Bluebook preferred)
  • Be no longer than 3 pages double-spaced

Please submit all blog posts to guundergraduatelawreview@gmail.com with your article attached as a Word Document. In the body of the email, please include:

  • Name
  • Email & Phone Number
  • University, Class, and Fields of Study
  • Submission Title

We do not accept blog submissions from May 1 to August 31.
